Christmas 2012: Food

This year was our first Christmas where we hosted Lunch.
We had all the immediate Kildea's (except Ichi) there plus Nana & Grandad, and John, Lyle, Chanelle & Alana.

I had so much fun preparing the menu for weeks for both the meals & the treat table.

Below is just a little preview of the day's food.

TREAT TABLE

Choc-cherry Cookies (home made), Choc-Oreo Truffels (home made), Lollies, Cashews, Cranberry-Pistachio Shortbread, Fruit-mince Pies, Choc-cherry Slice & Choc-chip slice.

Candy-canes, Choc-dipped Choc wafers, Minties, Christmas M&M's, Panforte (Homemade - but it was a bit of a disaster...) Double Choc Macadamia Cookies (home made), Coconut Ice & Turkish Delight.

Caramel Brittle (home made), Gingerbread Snowflakes (home made)
- thanks to Bindi for the recipes!

CHRISTMAS LUNCH:

Glazed Ham - Provided by Mum, Strawberry & Spinach Salad, Tiger Prawns, Potato Salad, Fried Rice (thanks to Hans) 5 in 1 Salad, Hoi Sin Chicken Wings, Roast Turkey Roll with Apple, Walnut & Cranberry Stuffing, Lamb Cutlets with Mint Gremolada (thanks Tam!), Prawn & Choriszo Skewers with Citrus & Mustard Dressing, Sweet Potato Bake with Pecan/Ginger Crumble.

DESSERT:

Baked Cheesecake with Cherry Coulis (Thanks Tam for the best cheesecake recipe! & Mum for the Coulis recipe)

Sachertorte - Rich Austrian Chocolate Cake.
This was a new recipe that I will definitely use again!

Mum's Mud Cups - always a winner - but I put too much Coffee in them - less than half what the recipe called for, but it was too overpowering.

I made the Mud Cups into mini Cappuccinos!

Trifel - this was my favourite creation! And it went down a treat!

Berry cream & Custard Horns - the custard was too thin :(

The Spread.
